HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/26/2001 City Council3/26/2001 MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION OF COUNCIL HELD ON MARCH 26, 2001 The Special Session of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 7:05 p.m. on the 26th day of March, 2001, at City Hall with the following roll call: William W. Manning, Mayor Present John Gordon, Councilmember Present Lewis Jue, Councilmember Present - Arrived at 8:25 p.m. David Stanwick, Councilmember Present - Arrived at 7:35 p.m. A1 Garcia, Councilmember Present John Dillard, Councilmember Present Dave Kovatch, Councilmember Present and with seven present, a quorum was established and the following items were discussed: 1. Receive presentations from Community Support Grant applicants: Denton County Friends of the Family, Inc. SPAN, Inc. Christian Community Action Boys & Girls Clubs of Denton County Denton County MHMR (not originally on agenda) A representative from each organization gave a brief presentation explaining the services offered by each. Mayor Manning thanked the representatives and informed them a decision regarding amount of contributions would be made at the next Regular Session on April 2. 2. Receive presentation from staff regarding the Capital Improvements Program Department Heads gave a brief presentation regarding proposed projects. Approval of the Capital Improvements Program will be presented to the Council at the next Regular Session on April 2 for consideration of approval. 8:45 p.m. Recess 3. Executive Session as authorized by Section 551.074 and 551.086 of the Government Code, regarding Personnel and Economic Development, to-wit: A. Discussion regarding hiring of city manager 00749o 3/26/2001 B. To deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive to a business prospect 9:50 p.m. Reconvene 4. Consideration of any appropriate action to be taken as a result of the Executive Session No action taken.
