HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/24/2000 City Council CITY OF THE COLONY DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS JULY 24, 2000 The JOINT SPECIAL SESSION of the City Council and The Colony Economic Development Corporation and WORK SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 6:35 p.m. on the 24th day of July, 2000, at City Hall with the following roll call: William W. Manning, Mayor Present John Gordon, Councilmember Present Lewis Jue, Councilmember Present David Stanwick, Councilmember Present Al Garcia, Councilmember Present John Dillard, Councilmember Absent (personal) Dave Kovatch, Councilmember Absent (personal) John Gordon, President Present Al Garcia, Board member Present Steven Sims, Board member Present Bob Norris, Board member Present and with five councilmembers and four EDC board members present, a quorum was established and the following items were discussed: 1.2 Consideration of authorizing the President of the Board of Directors to execute an agreement by and among the City of The Colony, and The Colony Economic Development Corporation and Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. Motion by EDC Board to approve - Garcia; second - Sims, carried with all ayes. Present Gordon adjourned the EDC Board meeting at 6:37 p.m. 1.1 Consideration of approval of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement by and among the City of The Colony, and The Colony Economic Development Corporation and Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. Motion to approve - Stanwick; second - Gareia, carried with all ayes. WORK SESSION: 1.1 Discussion of the 2000-2001 Municipal Budget Department Heads from each of the following departments presented their budgets: Police Department n 'Fire Department Public Works Department Water Distribution Wastewater Water Production Public Works Administration Engineering Inspections Recycling 8:45 Recess 8:55 Reconvene Parks and Recreation Department Aquatic Park Stewart Creek Park Hidden Cove Park With no further items to discuss, Mayor Manning adjourned the meeting at 9:30 p.m. APPROVED: ATTEST: William W.
