HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/07/1999 City Council 00722.t MINUTES OF THE RETREAT OF COUNCIL AND STAFF HELD ON AUGUST 7, 1999 The RETREAT OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND STAFF of the City of The Colony, Texas was called to order at 8:30 A.M. on the 7th DAY OF AUGUST 1999, in the CLARENDON ROOM at STONEBRIAR COUNTRY CLUB, 5050 Country Club Drive, Frisco, Texas with the following council roll call: William A. Manning, Mayor Present John A. Gordon, Councilmember Present Lewis Jue, Councilmember Present David Stanwick, Councilmember Present A1 Garcia, Councilmember Present John Dillard, Councilmember Present Jeff Meyers, Councilmember Present and with seven present a quorum was established. The following members of staffwere present: Lanny Lambert, City Manager Patti Hicks, City Secretary/Director of Administrative Services Joe Clark, Police Chief Gene Ramsey, Economic Development Director Tony Johnston, Finance Director Margaret Burkett, Human Resources Director Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Interim Public Services Director Van Morrison, Fire Chief Pat Dunlap, Inspections Director Joan Sveinsson, Library Director Pam Nelson, Parks & Recreation Director Abel Saldafia, Engineeer Harry Persaud, Planning Director The following items were addressed: ITEM DESCRIPTION SOURCE STATUS 1.1 COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS Council WILL MEET IN A RETREAT TO DISCUSS DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS AND GOALS Mayor Manning stated the purpose of the retreat. He said the directors should introduce themselves and their department and then explain what the department does -- and its philosophy. He advised they should touch on budget and goals, but reminded everyone that budget items will be discussed at the budget work sessions. Move employee to Code Enforcer position. August 16, 1999 agenda. :> Policy regarding Eastvale residents connecting to the new water lines ~> Exterior lighting standards as soon as possible The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 p.m. APPROVED: William W.
