A RESOLUTION OF T~E CITY COL~CIL OF THE CITY OF TH~ COLONY, T~XAS, AUT~ORLT_ING T~E CITY MANAGER TO SIG~ A GRANT ~?LICATION TO ~E SLT~~D TO TH~ TEXAS NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION FOR A RECYCLING PROGRAM AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WItEREAS, the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) has requested proposals for local and special governmental entities to initiate recycling programs; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to participate in TNRCC funding for these programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. SECTION 2. The City certifies the following: A. That the City of The Colony will comply with the provisions of the fiscal reimbursement and reporting requirements of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission and the State of Texas; and, B. That grant funding awarded in response to this proposal will be used only for the purpose(s) for which they are provided; and, C. That the proposed project is in compliance with and supports local or regional solid waste management plans or programs applicable to the geographical area within which the project is to be conducted. D. That the City of The Colony and any other entities represented will communicate their experiences and information regarding the funded project with other Texas communities and TNRCC on an as-needed basis. SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to sign the application for grant funds to the Texas Water Commission on behalf of the City of The Colony. SECTION 4.
