ITEM DESCRIPTION SOURCE STATUS
1.1 Discussion regarding appointments to The Colony Economic Watts
Development Board of Directors (4A) and the Planning and
Zoning Commission
It was noted that finding quality members for both
Planning and Zoning Commission and the Economic
Development Board (4A) is very important. Most
Councilmembers agreed they were not ready to make
appointments at this meeting and that they should seek more
applicants.
Mayor Watts noted there are four sitting Councilmembers
who have experience on the economic development boards;
Kovatch, Dillard, Stanwick and herself. She said any major
project will possible have to go through several boards, as
many as twenty-eight people before being approved. Some
projects go through Parks and Recreation, Economic
Development (4A), Community Development (4B) and the
City Council. She said the purpose of this work session was
to look into the future and determine the proper structure for
these boards.
There was consensus that the 4A and 4B boards especially
need more input and direction from the council, work session
between the council and boards are important, goals and
objectives need to be established.
With no further business to address, the work session was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
