A background of the system showed the highest use was in 1988. It is projected that this summer may reach that capacity as well. Staffmay recommend putting in place a water conservation plan soon, which would include odd/even watering. Other discussion included the long-range plans for expansion to the north along F.M. 423 as well as using all Dallas water instead of the wells currently being used to supplement the water supply when needed. Costs to use all Dallas water may be close to the current cost if there are no capital expenditures needed. More research is needed and that information will be brought to the council at a later date. The costs will be for 4, 5 and 6 mgd. The city engineer will be working on that. It is important to note that distribution may not be sufficient to handle increased flow. It would be feasible to use the ground storage tanks for the purpose of storage. Staff asked for permission to move ahead with a hydrology study to see if our system is sufficient to handle higher volumes. Councilmember Longo asked if the study could include the possibility of using our effluent to water medians and parks. Consensus of council was to proceed with the study. 6:45 p.m. 2.0 EXECUTIVE SESSION AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 551.071OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE RELATING TO LITIGATION, TO-WIT: A. JWV v.
