There followed a general discussion regarding the various
committees and their purposes. Mayor Amick explained about the
Re-districting of Council districts to the new members and
directed the City Secretary to provide the new map to Councilmen
Marks and Weaver and to place an Ordinance to adopt the new
districts on the next Council agenda.
Councilman Weaver asked if he could be appointed as an alternate
to the Chamber. There was some discussion as to whether the City
could actually become a voting member of the Chamber and the
Mayor asked Mr. Hall to contact the Chamber and see if they want
a Councilmember on the Board of Directors. Councilman Marks said
he thinks the City should be a member of the Chamber. Mr. Hall
said he does not think cities can become a member of the
organization so we cannot be a voting member.
Mayor Amick then clarified for the new members, an article which
had appeared in The Colony Leader regarding the White property.
Mayor Amick said The Colony annexed the p~operty before the City
of Plano and that the boundaries had been validated by a
declaratory judgement at the time the City merged with the M.U.D.
The Mayor did say that we have been talking with the City of
Plano on a possible settlement on the boundaries.
With no further business to address, Councilman Glazener moved to
adjourn the meeting and Councilman Marks seconded the motion
which carried with all members voting Aye.
