HELD ON
NOVEMBER 12, 1986
The EMERGENCY SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony,
Texas was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th day of November,
at City Hall with the following Council Roll call:
Don Amick Mayor, present
Rick Harris Mayor Pro-tern, present
Tom Arrambide Councilman, present
David W. Dye, III Councilman, present
Steve Glazener Councilman, present
Harvey Bradley Councilman, absent, due to illness
Marlene Poole Councilman, present
and with six members present and quorum was established and the following
items were addressed:
1. CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL DISSOLUTION OF THE CURRENT
CITY MANAGER CONTRACT
Mayor Amick said this action dissolves the current contract with
Janice Carroll. Councilman Poole moved to accept the letter of res~gna-
ton from Ms. Carroll, to approve the mutual dissolution of the contract
with her and to appoint her to the position of Assistant City Manager.
Councilman Harris seconded the motion which carried w~th a unanimous vote.
Janlce Carroll said that she really feels this action is in the best
interest of herself and the City of The Colony and thanked the Council
for their understanding and patience in these proceedings.
2. CONSIDERATION OF THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW CITY MANAGER
Councilman Poole moved to appoint Mr. Bill Hall as City Manager
and to direct the City Attorney to draw up an employment contract
to be addressed on the November 17, 1986 Council agenda and that
the appointment be effective immediately. Councilman Harris seconded the
motion which carried with a unanimous roll call vote.
Mr. Hall stated that he appreciated the opportunity and was looking
forward to working with the Council.
At this time, Mayor Amick called a brief recess.
3. CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION REGARDING GOALS OF THE CITY
Gouncdmap, Poole moved to table this item until a later date and
Councilman Harris seconded the motion which carried with a unanimous
roll call vote.
4. CLOSED DOOR SESSION AS AUTHORIZED BY ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.G.S.
SECTION 2G, REGARDING PERSONNEL, TO WIT:
A. STAFFING
Upon reconvening in open session and with no action to take as a result of
the Closed Door Session, Councilman Poole moved to adjourn and Councilman
Glazener seconded the motion which carried with all members voting
Aye.
Mayor Amick adjourned the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
