HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 91-06 CITY OF THE COLONY A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION WITH LEWISVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE HELD ON MAY 4, 1991 WHEREAS, %he City of The Colony has deemed it advisable to approve an Order Calling an Election: and WHEREAS, when elections of two or more political subdivisions are to be held on ~he same day in all or part of the same territory, the governing bodies of the political subdivisions may enter into an agreement, pursuant Section 271.002 of the Texas Election Code, to hold the elections jointly in the election precincts that can be served by common polling places: and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of The Colony, Texas, and in the best interes9 of its citizens to minimize cost and to maximize efficiency of said election to hold such joint election with Lewisville Independent School District on May 4, 1991. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by 9he City Council of %he City of The Colony, Texas tha9 the method for allocating expenses and records for said election shall be as follows: 1. The City of The Colony and Lewisville Independent School District shall share equally the cost of said polling places, election judges, alternate judges, election clerks and interpreters (if needed). 2. The City of The Colony and Lewisville Independent School District shall use separate ballots and ballot boxes. 3. The custodian of the records for the City of The Colony shall be ~he Mayor and the custodian of ~he records for Lewisville Independent School District shall be the Chairman of the Board. 4. Absentee voting for %he City election and the School Board election shall be conducted a9 City Hall, 5151N. Colony Blvd., The Colony, Texas wighin the boundaries of both en~ities, and Patti A.
