HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/02/1985 City Council MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1985 The SPECIAL SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall with the following members present: Larry D. Sample Mayor Tom Arrambide Councilman Helen Gray Councilman Charles Dodds Councilman Don Amick Councilman and with Councilman Harris and Councilman Poole absent due to personal business, however, a quorum was established. 1. CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A 500 FOOT WIDE STRIP OF LAND (EAST/WEST) AND ONE-HALF MILE IN LENGTH (NORTH/SOUTH) GENERALLY LOCATED ONE HALF MILE WEST OF FM 423 NORTH OF BOYD ROAD ON WYNNWOOD PENINSULA AND EXTENDING ONTO HACKBERRY PENINSULA. Janice Carroll, City Manager, present the legal description and explained that a small portion of the strip of land belonging to Capccn was included in this tract. Mayor Sample stated there could possibly another annexation at a later date to correct that by bringing both pieces together. Councilman Arrambide moved to pass the Ordinance as written, and Councilman Dodds seconded the motion. Richard Waldorsky of the Nelson Corporation stated ~ on behalf of Cosco, they would like to see their second land tract to be eventually annexed into the city of Frisco. Mayor Sample stated that this could be subject to change based on an agreement with the Town of Frisco. The motion passed with a unanimous roll call vote. With no further business to address, Councilman Dodds moved to adjourn. Councilman Amick seconded the motion which carried with all members voting Aye.
