THE COLONY, TEXAS
HELD ON
AUGUST 30, 1984
The EMERGENCY SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony,
Texas was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with the following members
present:
Larry D. Sample Mayor
Rick Harris Councilman
Noel Long Councilman
Helen Gray Councilman
Charles Dodds Councilman
Marlene Poole Councilman
and with Councilman Amick absent due to a prior commitment, however,
a quorum was established.
1. CONSIDERATION OF AWARDING OF BIDS FOR A 13.606 ACRE LAND TRACT
GENERALLY LOCATED WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF FM423 AND SOUTH
COLONY BOULEVARD
City Manager, Janice Carroll, briefly reviewed the amendments
of the Talmadge Tinsley. She advised the Council that the City
Attorney had reviewed them as well and everything was in order.
She went on to say, the City could earn a substantial amount of
interest on the monies. At 12.5, in two years the City could earn
approximately $200,000 in interest. She then recommended the
Council award the bid for tracts 1 & 3 to Talmadge Tinsley and
tract 2 to Dunning Development Corporation.
After a brief discussion, Councilman Dodds moved to have the bid
for tracts 1 & 3 in the amounts of $1,068,000 and $689,000 respect-
fully, to the Talmadge Tinsley Company and tract 2 in the amount
of $285,318 to the Dunning Development Corporation. Seconded by
Councilman Poole, the motion passed with the following roll call
vote:
Ayes: Ail members present voted aye
Noes: None
With no further action to be taken by the Council at this time, Council-
man Dodds moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Councilman Poole,
the motion passed with the following roll call vote:
Ayes: All members present voted aye
Noes: None
Mayor Sample adjourned the meeting at 7:47 p.m.
