Mayor Pollard called the Work Session to order stating the purpose of
the meeting was to discuss future ]and planning of the City as requested
by Robert Fiumara, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Commission members presented a map which they have been working
on that showed some of the possible zoning changes they were looking
at. They stated they would need professional help before they could
make any recommendations to the Council.
Mayor Pollard stated he had been in contact with Fox & Jacobs and they
have agreed to a one-year moratorium on all ]and west of F'M ~423. This
amount of time would give the Planning and Zoning Commission time to
meet with a professional planner and to go over the zoning map in detail
in order to bring their recommendations to the Council. Both the Council
and the Commission were in agreement with this one-year moratorium.
Member Metting suggested that a committee be formed from the Commission
'and the Council to work together with a professional planner. Mayor
Pollard was in agreement. Members McBride and Metting of the Planning
and Zoning Commission and Councilmen Dodds, Poo]e and Adeler will be
on this committee.
