HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/13/1982 City Council MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 1982 A SPECIAL SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Scott North Mayor Pro Tem Larry Sample Councilman Norman Adeler Councilman Charlie Parker Councilman Charles Dodds Councilman Marlene Poole Councilman and with Mayor Gene Pollard absent due to business; however, a quorum was established. 1. CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF COLLIN COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION FUND SUBCOMMITTEE TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 16, 1982, AT 10:00 A.M. IN AUSTIN, TEXAS At this time Mayor Pro Tem North read aloud the following Resolution: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, has determined that there Js a need to improve State Highway #121, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, is supportive of the Collin County Transportation Commit- tee's interest in working with the State Department of High- ways and Public Transportation to improve State Highway #121, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, is in agreement with the Collin County Transportation Committee that there is an urgent need to widen State Highway #121: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS: That we hereby support the Collin County Transportation Committee's endeavors to secure additional funding for highway improvement and construction, and we further support the Collin County Transportation Committee at their Public Hearing before the Highway Construction Fund Subcommittee of the Transportation Committee, Texas House of Representatives, on December 16, 1982, at 10:00 a.m. in the Reagan Building in Austin, Texas. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, ON THE DAY OF DECEMBER, 1982. Seconded by Councilman Sample, the motion carried by the following roll call vote: Ayes: All members present voted aye Noes: None -1- There being no further business to be conducted by the Council, Councilman Dodds moved that the meeting be adjourned.
