MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY HELD ON
JUNE 28, 1982
A SPECIAL SESSION of the City Council of the City of The Colony,
Texas, was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on the property to be
considered for annexation into The Colony, with the following
members present:
Gene Pollard Mayor
Scott North Councilman
Norman Adeler Councilman
Char lie Parker Councilman
Charles Dodds Councilman
Mar lene Poole Councilman
and with Councilman Larry Sample not in attendance; however,
a quorum was established.
1. PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ANNEXATION OF 11.058 ACRES
OF LAND LOCATED WEST OF FM 423 GENERALLY AT THE INTERSEC-
TION WITH NASH DRIVE UPON PETITION BY FOX & JACOBS, INC.
Councilman North moved to open the Public Hearing. Councilman
Dodds seconded this motion. The motion carried by the following
vote:
Ayes: All members present voted aye
Noes: None
Mr. Dan Savage, City Manager, advised the Council that this
rectangular piece of property surrounded by the City of The
Colony was omitted from past annexations by Fox & Jacobs and
that they now wished to include this property into the city
limits of The Colony. He advised the Council that in accordance
with the prepared service plan, this area could be serviced
with police and fire protection and all utilities. He added
that Fox & Jacobs did not intend to develop this area in the
near future. Mayor Pollard then called for comments for or
against this annexation. There were none. Councilman North
moved to close the Public Hearing. Seconded by Councilman Dodds,
the motion passed by the following vote:
Ayes: All members present voted aye
Noes: None
Councilman North moved that the meeting be adjourned. Seconded
by Councilman Parker, the motion passed by the following vote:
Ayes: Ail members present voted aye
Noes: None
Mayor Pollard adjourned the meeting at 7:04 p.m.
