8. REVIEW AND STUDY OF THE PROPOSED BUDGET FY 1979/80
The Council discussed the use of the money to be received from
International Business Machines for the abandonment in relation
to the budget. Mr. Hart recommended that a portion of this
money be used to purchase a portable building to be used for
Municipal offices and the balance to be used for capital ex-
penditures. The Council felt that they must consider the use
of this money in the budget to keep the tax rate as low as
possible. Councilman Fabian stated that he feels that the
tax-payers money should not be used in a contigency reserve.
Councilman Longo urged the Council to make a decision regarding
a Municipal building, the sharing of this building with the
utility district, and the specific use of the balance of the
road abandonment monies. Mayor Turner stressed that the Council
must have cost figures on a building before any decisions can
be made.

they were having a meeting Thursday evening regarding the cross
