CONSIDERATION OF SECOND READING OR ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THOMPSON/ PARKEY, ASSOCIATES, INC., ARCHITECTS Mr. Hart told the Council that Mr. Parkey could not attend this meeting due to a previous engagement, but that he did address the Council's questions concerning the contract in a letter. Mr. Hart then reviewed the letter with the Council. He pointed out that Section 15 of the Municipal/Police Building Contract contains a typographical error, Section 1.710 should be Section 1.7.10. This correction answered the question the Council had on Section #15 of both the Municipal and Fire Station contracts. Article 14.6 concerning additional pay for the use of the architect's employees is for additional services only, and these services must be ap- proved by the Council. The Council reviewed the schematic design, Article. 15.4 and determined that there would be no payment to the architect until the actual sale of the bonds. Concerning Article 14.6, the Council agreed to insert the interest rate of ten per- cent (10%) to protect the City in the event the state usury law is raised to 12%.
