CITY OF THE COLONY,TEXAS
BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION
Wednesday,August 19,2015
After determining that a quorum was present, the Building and Standards Commission of the
City of The Colony, Texas convened into a Regular Session which was held on Wednesday, July
15, at 6:45 PM in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The Colony,
Texas, at which time the following item will be addressed:
Board Members Present: Charles Tredo, Chairman; Vice-Chairman, Casey Truskunas,
Constance Yahwak, and Joel Ortega.
Board Members Absent: Gerald Odum
Present from Staff: Iris Browder, Community Image Manager
1.0 CALL REGULAR SESSION TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 6:36p.m.
2.0 ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION
2.1 Consider approval of the minutes of the July 15,2015 Building and Standards
Commission meeting.
Commissioner Yahwak made a motion to approve the minutes with the correction of two
words that were cut off of on the print out of the minutes. Motion seconded by
Commissioner Truskunas. The motion carried (4-0).
Continue a public hearing from July 15,2015,discuss and consider a substandard
2.2 structure(swimming pool)on property located at 3 Indianola Circle,The Colony,
Texas,and having a legal description of Colony No. 28,block 245,Lot 8.
Chairman Tredo made a motion to close the public hearing and stated that based upon
the evidence presented to the Building and Standards Commission,the:
(1) Commission hereby finds and determines that the structure, a swimming pool,
generally located at 3 Indianola Circle is not a dangerous structure, and is not a public
nuisance; and
(2) Directs the City Secretary within ten (10)days after the date this order is issued to file,
publish, and mail a copy of the order consistent with state law.
Commissioner Yawak seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
