RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE
COLONY DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING
RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTING FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
THE COLONY IN DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE
DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY
OF THE COLONY IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE UNDER
SUCH PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the land and
Water Conservation Fund Ac% of 1965 (Public Law 88-578),
authorizing %he Secretary of the Interior %o provide financial
assistance ko states, and poli%icai subdivisions thereof, for
outdoor recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has adopted Article 6081r,
V.A.C.S., for the purpose of allowing %he State of Texas, and
political subdivisions, %o participate in %he Federal program
established under said Public law 88-578, or such other programs
as are hereinafter established by the Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, %he City Council of %he City of The Colony is
desirous of authorizing its administrative staff %o represent and
ac% for the City in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department concerning this program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section I. That the City Council of the City of The
Colony hereby certifies that the City of The Colony is eligible
%o receive assistance under Public Law 88-578, as augmented by
Article 6081r, V.A.C.S.
Section II. That the City Council hereby authorizes and
directs its Director of Parks and Recreation %o represen~ and
for %he City of The Colony in dealing with the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department for the purpose of %his Program. The
Director is hereby officially designated as the City's
representative in this regard.
Sec%ion III. The City Council hereby designates its
Director of Finance as authorized to serve as the City's fiscal
officer to receive Federal funds for purposes of ~his Program.
~ection IV. The City Council hereby specifically
authorizes the City officials herein designated to make
application %o the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department concerning
the development of the Northpointe Park Property. That these
facilities are hereby dedicated for public outdoor recreation
purposes. -
