COUNTY OF DENTON )
The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of The Colony, Denton
County, Texas convened in Regular Session, open to the public, at the
City Hall of the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas at 7 p.m.
on Tuesday, November 8, 1977, and the roll was called of the members
to wit:
Harry Hunsicker Chairman
Bob Brown Member
Mark Crow Member
Rick Turner Member
Loyd Hodges Member
Harry Hunsicker and Bob Brown were not in attendance; however, a quorum
was established. Also present was Cathy Bock, Alderman; Frank Graham
and Wayne Thompson, Fox & Jacobs, and Janice Carroll, Secretary. Richard
Turner was appointed as acting Chairman.
The first agenda item was the approval of the minutes of the regular
session held October 4, 1977. Mark Crow made the motion that the minutes
be tabled until the next regular session due to the absence of Harry
Hunsicker and Bob Brown. Lloyd Hodges seconded this motion. The motion
was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Ail members present voted aye
Noes: None
The second item on the agenda was the further review and study of the
Dallas Ordinance. Chairman Crow led the lengthy discussion. Wayne
Thompson did comment that he felt that the area designated as "neighbor-
hood service" should not be eliminated in the zoning districts. Because
of a time factor, Chairman Crow stated that the commission would continue
this review at next week's work session beginning with "upholstery shops".
At this time Alderman Bock presented the new commission members with a
copy of the Council's Priority List. She asked that the new members
consider which area they would be most interested in working on and let
her know at next week's work session. Relating to this list there was
a brief discussion as to the reason for having a Board of Adjustment.
Wayne Thompson commented that a Board of Adjustment can handle minor
discrepancies that the Building Inspector cannot approve, and their
decision cannot be appealed to the Council.
There being no further business, Member Hodges moved that the meeting
be adjourned. Member Crow seconded the motion. The motion was carried
by the following vote:
Ayes: All members present voted aye
Noes: None
The meeting was adjourned.
Janice Carroll, Secretary
