HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/08/77 P&Z MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION CITY OF THE COLONY NOVEMBER 8, 1977 STATE OF TEXAS ) ) COUNTY OF DENTON ) The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas convened in Regular Session, open to the public, at the City Hall of the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 1977, and the roll was called of the members to wit: Harry Hunsicker Chairman Bob Brown Member Mark Crow Member Rick Turner Member Loyd Hodges Member Harry Hunsicker and Bob Brown were not in attendance; however, a quorum was established. Also present was Cathy Bock, Alderman; Frank Graham and Wayne Thompson, Fox & Jacobs, and Janice Carroll, Secretary. Richard Turner was appointed as acting Chairman. The first agenda item was the approval of the minutes of the regular session held October 4, 1977. Mark Crow made the motion that the minutes be tabled until the next regular session due to the absence of Harry Hunsicker and Bob Brown. Lloyd Hodges seconded this motion. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Ail members present voted aye Noes: None The second item on the agenda was the further review and study of the Dallas Ordinance. Chairman Crow led the lengthy discussion. Wayne Thompson did comment that he felt that the area designated as "neighbor- hood service" should not be eliminated in the zoning districts. Because of a time factor, Chairman Crow stated that the commission would continue this review at next week's work session beginning with "upholstery shops". At this time Alderman Bock presented the new commission members with a copy of the Council's Priority List. She asked that the new members consider which area they would be most interested in working on and let her know at next week's work session. Relating to this list there was a brief discussion as to the reason for having a Board of Adjustment. Wayne Thompson commented that a Board of Adjustment can handle minor discrepancies that the Building Inspector cannot approve, and their decision cannot be appealed to the Council. There being no further business, Member Hodges moved that the meeting be adjourned. Member Crow seconded the motion. The motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: All members present voted aye Noes: None The meeting was adjourned. Janice Carroll, Secretary
