HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/27/77 P&Z MINUTES OF A SPECIAL SESSION PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION CITY OF THE COLONY DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS SEPTEMBER 27, 1977 State of Texas ) County of Denton ) The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas, convened in Special Session, open to the public, at the offices of the Colony Municipal Utility District, City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas at 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 1977, and the roll was called of the members to wit: Mike Mansfield Chairman Cathy Bock Member Bob Brown Member Harry Hunsicker Member Art Welty Member Chairman Mike Mansfield was not in attendance; however, all other members were present. Also in attendance were Frank Graham and Wayne Thompson, Fox & Jacobs, Janice Carroll, Secretary, and Luis Guerrero, Mayor of the City of The Colony. Art Welty, Acting Chairman, called the meeting to order. The first agenda item was a closed door session discussing personnel matters. When the meeting was reopened to the members of the public, the announcement of action taken was made. Chairman Mansfield and Vice Chairman Welty sub- mitted their resignations from the Planning & Zoning Commission. The suggestion was made and passed by the Commission that Harry Hunsicker serve as temporary Chairman. A Work Session had been scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 1977, to interview possible appointees to the Planning & Zoning Commission. The second agenda item was the Dallas Code. Chairman Hunsicker stated that Wayne Thompson of Fox & Jacobs was to review this ordinance and assist the Commission in its comprehensive study. A general discussion followed as to what residential zoning will entail in The Colony. Chairman Hunsicker stated that he hoped to avoid complex classifications in single family zoning. Cathy Bock suggested that the Dallas Ordinance be divided per the Table of Contents, each member study a section and discuss this ordinance in more detail at the next Work Session. It was decided that Bob Brown study the parts of Sections 11 through 20 that pertain to residential zoning. Chairman Hunsicker will study the areas of the same sections that pertain to commercial zoning. Cathy Bock will study Section 28, etc. The Commission scheduled a Work Session for Tuesday, October 4, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. There being no further business, Bob Brown moved that the meeting be adjourned. Cathy Bock seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: All members present voted aye Noes: None The meeting was adjourned by Chairman Hunsicker. Janice Carroll, Secretary
