THURSDAY, September 26, 2024
After determining that a quorum was present, the Keep The Colony Beautiful Board of the City
of The Colony, Texas convened into a regular session that was held on Thursday September
26th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall, 6800 Main Street,
The Colony, Texas, at which time the following items were addressed:
Board Members Present: Chairman Chris Benson, Vice Chairman Cody Carpenter;
Lubna Rizvi, Jenna Nowlin,
Board Members not Present: Jane Hughey; Chris Luce; Pam DeSantiago
Staff Members Present: Danny Dill, Community Outreach Officer; Iris Browder Director of
Community Services
1.0 CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order at 6:17 p.m.
2.0 CITIZENS INPUT
None
3.0 MINUTES
3.1 Approve minutes from, August 29, 2024 meeting
Motion to approve the minutes made by Vice Chairman Carpenter, second by board
member Nowlin. Motion carried 4-0.
4.0 DISCUSSION AND CONSIDERATION
4.1 Discuss attending National Night Out on October 1, 2024
Jenna Nowlin will discuss details with Pam DeSantiago and send the information to the
board through an email. She will contact Iris on Monday to arrange picking up supplies
for attending the event.
4.2 Discuss owl and Howl Prowl assignments
The Owl and Howl Prowl will be held October 22 at 4500 Lakeside Dr. at the trailhead of
Ridgepoint Park. Officer Dill request 3 volunteers to help with set up, hand out candy and
pace the group. Chairman Benson, Vice Chairman Carpenter and Board member Rizvi
volunteered to do these task.
4.3 Finalize November 2, 2024 fall cleanup details.
The fall Colony cleanup will take place on November 2 at Bill Allen Park and Turner
soccer fields. Board member Nowlin and Vice Chairman Carpenter will communicate
and coordinate with the Schools. Logistics assignments will be given out at the October
board meeting.
4.4 Discuss that so TC Art Project on December 7, 2024
Board Member Nowlin gave an update that she is working with the art teachers and she
will reach out to possible judges for the event. Judges will arrive at 10:00 am on 12/7.
4.5 Board to provide direction to staff regarding future agenda items.
Board to discuss preplan work sheets for KTCB Events, Chairman Benson also request a
discussion for 2025 events start at the October event. Officer Dill will communicate
with Blaine to ask him to continue to push out the Art Project on social media platforms.
5.0 Adjournment
