MINUTES
THURSDAY, JULY 27TH , 2023
After determining that a quorum was present, the Keep The Colony Beautiful Board of the City
of The Colony, Texas convened into a regular session that was held on Thursday, July 27tn,
2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The
Colony, Texas, at which time the following items were addressed:
Board Members Present: Christopher Benson; Cris Luce; Cody Carpenter; Jenna Nowlin;
Pam De Santiago; Jane Hughey
Board Members not Present: Lubna Rizvi.
Staff Members Present: Iris Browder Community Image Director; Danny Dill, Community
Outreach Officer;

Meeting called to order at 6:01 p.m.
2.0 1 CITIZENS INPUT
None.
3.0 1 MINUTES
3.1 Approve Minutes from May 2511, 2023 meeting.
Motion to approve the minutes made by board member De Santiago and seconded
by Secretary Luce. Motion carried 6-0.
4.0 1 DISCUSSION AND CONSIDERATION
4.1 Discuss the fall cleanup dates and possible new benefactor. (De Santiago)
Board members choose 11/4 as the date for their fall clean up event. Areas will
be determined at the next meeting. Board member DE Santiago suggested we
hold a food drive for Love Packs. Wondering if a food drive could be held at city
hall on a Saturday or donation boxes placed at City Hall and Rec center.
4.2 Evaluate and assess for KTCB to become independent from the city. (Staff)
Board members discussed with staff what the possibilities of the board becoming
an independent affiliate would looks like. Board members would like more
flexibility in social media post, partnerships, meeting times and fund raising. The
board members will reach out to other KTB affiliates to get some answers and
bring back to next meeting to discuss more options and questions. This will be
an ongoing discussion.
4.3 Board to provide direction to stag regarding future agenda items.
Board asked staff to check with the library about how the Friends of The Colony
Library and The Library interact. How their social media and funds drives work.
Board member Nowlin asked to confirm areas that will be open for fall clean
up event.
