The Special Session of The Tree Advisory Board of the City of The Colony, Texas, was
called to order at 7:45 p.m. on the I OTH day of April 2014, at City Hall, 6800 Main Street,
The Colony, Texas, with the following roll call:
Stephen Sohn President Present Pam Nelson Staff Liaison
Kathy Braby Vice President Present Eve Morgan Staff Liaison
Lisa Leary Secretary Present Kathy Neal Recording Secretary
Don Seckel Treasurer Present Richard Boyer Council Liaison
Susana Perez Member Present

Allen Harris Member Absent
And with six board members present a quorum was established and the following items
were addressed:

2.1 Consider approval of minutes of April 10" 2014 —
Motion to approve the minutes ...- Leary; second —Beckel; motion passes with all ayes.
3.0 REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
3.1 Discussion of the recommended tree list in the City's Landscape {ordinance —

The board was given a list of trees that shows what county the tree is suitable for. There
was discussion about creating a new list to be included in the city ordinance and put on
the website with hyperlinks for each tree; the list should also he given to the EDC
(Economic Development Corp.) and also to new residents when they get their water set
up. Eve reviews landscape plans of"businesses conning into the cio%
3.2 Update on Memorial Dr. Tree relocation project —
There are 24 trees that need to he relocated. The Leyland Cypress trees that were
removed and transplanted at Five Star are doing very well. Trees will not be relocated to
locations that don't have irrigation.
3.3 Discussion of the Arbor Day event —
This year the event will be with thefifth grade class at Bl? Owen Elementary School on
Nov. 13"'.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m..
