Theatre Slam 3/29- Five young actors participated in this event. In preparation for
this event, scripts were written by students in Pat Davis' Lakeview Middle School 8f
grade English class. Based on the number and age of the actors, the script selected for
the workshop was "Fear the House", written by Mia Bosley a (TCPL Teen Advisory
Panel member) and Madison Hall. An audience of fourteen enjoyed the performance
of the skit at the conclusion of the workshop. The other three scripts selected from
the submission to be considered for the workshop were "I am a Strong Independent
Woman", by Willow Kasek and Helena Gray, "Lear and Grow" by Angela Walters
and Sydney Men, and "The Life of a Slave" by Sam Buckley and Nick Khmel.
According to Leslie Williams of The Colony Playhouse, "the scripts were all good
and our Play Committee wants to encourage these kids to develop these scripts
further for a future workshop or even a young play writer's event". Theatre Slam is a
partnership project of The Colony Playhouse, The Colony Public Library and Friends
of The Colony Public Library.
Morningside Elementary School Summer Camp Vendor Fair 3/29- 5 library cards
