OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY
August 27, 1998
A REGULAR SESSION of the Library Board of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called
to order by Chair Parks, at 7:01 p.m.

1. Citizen's Input.
None.
2. Consideration of approval of minutes of the Board meetings held April 23, 1998, April
30, 1998, and May 23, 1998.
Consideration of approval of minutes was tabled.
3. Consideration of revisions to the Circulation Policy to correspond with the changes in
the Schedule of Fine and Charges.
Member Kruzich moved to approve the revisions as presented; Member Skelton
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Reports:
4.1. Chairman
None.
4.2. NTRLS System Representative
Member Kruzich reported that she will not be able to attend the system Fall
Assembly.
4.3. Library Director:
,, Director Sveinsson reported that a Technical Committee has been established
for the City Hall/Library project. The Committee will be meeting with
Southwestern Bell. Demolition of the old Food Lion building is to begin this
weekend. The site plan is being sent to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Library Consultant Carol Brown will be preparing our preliminary furniture layout.
As the trolley car that has been donated to the City will not fit in the new library
facility, members discussed ideas for other potential locations and/or uses for it.
Suggested locations included the golf course, Stewart Creek Park, or one of the
other parks, use as a coffee bar, soda shop, or staff patio in the City Hall/Library
parking lot.
· The budget work session will be held on Aug. 31st.
· Director Sveinsson is working on the TIF grant application to expand the
Library's Internet access network.
The next Library Board meeting will be held September 17, 1998.
