HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/19/2012 CAB September 19, 2012 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS CULTURAL ARTS BOARD SPECIAL SESSION MEETING September 19, 2012 A SPECIAL SESSION of the Cultural Arts Board of the City of The Colony was called to order by Chair Costa at 7:09 pm. PRESENT: Robert Bourbon Place 1 Donna Arnold Place 3 Gail Kasek Place 4 Joan Lux Place 5 Kathy Costa Place 6 Casey Kidwell Place 7 ABSENT: Liz Ripperger Place 2 1. Call to Order Chair Costa called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm. 2. Budget Update (Staff) Staff distributed updated balance and available funds to the board members. 3. Event development updates and Discussion and consideration of events for FY 2013. a. Art Quest Board member Lux gave an update on this event stating that she is visiting potential locations for this event. It was requested by member Lux that the record show that it has been asked that the city allow public art to be displayed in city buildings and that she has experienced difficulty in having this goal realized. Staff was instructed to put use of city buildings to display public art on the October 3, 2012 Regular Session agenda. No action. b. Jammin' in the Park Chair Costa gave update that this event planning has been completed and everything ready. 1. Discussion and possible action regarding the purchase of a canopy for Jammin' in the Park events. No action. c. Holiday Choir Board member Bourbon gave an update on this event. d. Film Festival Chair Costa gave an update regarding this event. Board member Bourbon made a motion to move any excess funds from completed projects from 2012 to the film festival event budget. The motion was seconded by board member Arnold. Unanimously approved. e. Senior Citizen Pantomime Event Board member Lux distributed music to the board members. September 19, 2012 4.
