June 20, 2012
A SPECIAL SESSION of the Cultural Arts Board of the City of The Colony was called to
order by Chair Costa at 7:02 pm

1. Call to Order
Chair Costa called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm
2. Discussion and consideration of events for 2013.
a) Art Quest
Member Kidwell has spoken to John Henry at the Cascades for February or
March event.
Discussion was held regarding new and previous location possibilities.
Discussion was held of hosting an opening reception for the 2013 event.
Need earlier advertisement for artists.
b) Jammin' in the Park
Discussion was held of hosting another event in September.
c) Holiday Choir
Discussion was held of procuring a director for the holiday choir.
d) Film Festival
Three entrants already lined up.
Dallas Film Commission expressed excitement; will put event on their website.
Two producers of 48 Hr. Film Festival in Fort Wirth offered feedback and to
submit films.
e) Pirate Days
Discussion was held of Board tent at Pirate Days.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
3. Council shall convene into a closed executive session pursuant to Section 551.071 of
the TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE to seek legal advice from the city attorney
regarding city personnel matters.
Executive Session was convened at 7:40 p.m.

Reconvene to Open Session
4. Any action as a result of executive session regarding city personnel matters.
Reconvened to Open Session at 7:35 p.m. No action was taken.
5. Discussion on guidelines for a Public Art Policy. (Staff)
Joan provided area city art policies for review by the Board. Chair Costa appointed a
Public Art Policy committee consisting of Chair Costa, Member Kasek and Member Lux.
