parts of town are being rebuild, newer parts already have the equipment instaiied. Caii Eiia

The Teiecommunications Board recommends City Sian devise form for tracKing citizens'
compiaint cans re AT&T C:abie. The form silouid contain at a minimum: compiamantIs name,
address, contact number, and nature of compiaint. Tile suggestion was made to write a letter to
City Stan-- to be discussed at our March, 2000 meeting.
7. Discussion and consideration of requesting a meeting with the City Manager to discuss funding
for the operations of a rubiic Safety chamhei. Lanny not present but gist of his request is to
appoint a subcommittee to meet with him. Committee composed of Duane Sanders, %iark
Switzer, and Waiter Giiiett approved by board
a. Board Chair's report: aii units in City Haii except Graphics unit are wonting. Graphics Unit
needs to be sent to Caiifornia out at ieasc a nhonth.

9. 1. Report from Grants committee re potential grant opportunities: unless provide
service for deaf, blind, or other special services not many grants avaiiabie. FCC wiii allow low
power rivi stations commencing 3/i/00 i-io mi. radius. Low power AM stations have 5mi
radius.
A secondary antenna wiii be needed. Limited number of applications Or AM station avaiiabie--
about $30K to start with $ i 000 commitment, up front to get application, only 5 siots avaiiabie in
the ivietropiex. Report to be presented at March, 2000 meeting.

and suggest a iodation for the low-power Pm station. By next month have preliminary figures
and have station operate unmanned with the ability to go live.

Chief Morrison also said money has been received for a new base unit. Ham radio now at fire
station and is same as what will be in EOC.
