Financial Statements - The board was pleased to see the continued growth in the sales tax.
Five Star - The rock on the outside of the football/soccer restroom-concession building is complete. The
two baseball pavilions are going up. Work on the sidewalk at the east end of the parking lot will start
soon. The framework.for the football/soccer pavilion is going up and the canopy will be put up in July.
Trees are being planted.
Skatepark - Dennis Sims informed Sam that the concrete slab for the skatepark will cost over $50, 000,
therefore, we now have to contact the Texas License Bureau and the plans have to be stamped by an
architect. Molly, from Dennis' office is preparing the formal paperwork. After all this is complete we
can go out for bids.
Town Hall Meeting -January 23 is Family First Day in The Colony. Channel 8 will be spending the day
in The Colony and they will hold a Town. Hall Meeting at the High School. There is a parade in the
morning, an assembly at the high school following the parade, a luncheon at The Tribute, then the Town
Hall Meeting in the evening at the high school. This is probably a result of our city being ranked #6 in
the metroplex as one of the best places to live and also the Gold Medal award Parks & Rec. received.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
