3. DISCUSSION REGARDING THE VETERAN'S MEMORIAL TO BE PLACED AT FIVE STAR -
James Munsey informed the board that a Veteran's Memorial will be built and placed at Five Star next
year. As a way to help fund the project, residents can purchase bricks and have the names of their family
members who served in any division of the military - Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force-
engraved on the brick with their rank and length of service. The bricks can be purchased after Nov. 9'r' and
cost $25.00. There are certain requirements that must be met before a brick can be purchased, one of
which is you must be a resident of The Colony. The monument will be placed in the baseball plaza area.
4. UPDATE FROM DIRECTOR / ASST. DIRECTOR -
August Financial Statements - The board reviewed the financial statements. The percentage allocations
dedicated to projects will need to be reviewed at the next meeting.
Five Star - Work is progressing. Sam gave the board aerial photos of the complex that were taken from
a helicopter.
Skate Park - We are still waiting on an estimate from Adolphson/Peterson on the cost of concrete. A
survey was done and the contractor is concerned about the drainage - whether it will drain fast enough.
Our skate park will be the largest public skate park in Denton County.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
